My homelab, without pretending it's a datacenter

A practical overview of the machines, services, and rules I use to keep my homelab useful.

#homelab#self-hosting

I like homelabs that solve real problems. Mine is a place to learn, self-host a few services, test ideas, and occasionally create entirely new problems for myself.

What matters to me

My priorities are fairly simple: recoverability, low maintenance, and reasonable power use. I would rather have a modest service that I understand than a complicated stack I am afraid to touch.

Documentation is part of the system

The more services I run, the more valuable short notes become. A five-minute journal entry after a change can save an hour six months later.

That is one of the reasons this site exists.
